Vampires and Werewolves in games. |

On Saturday, August 21, 2021 DemonFireKat wrote : |
Funny how many games are devoted to vampire themes, and the popularity of such games does not fall from year to year.
Today I've been researching a lot of casinos for vampire and werewolf slots.
Immortal Romance, Blood Queen, Wolf Run, Blood Lore Vampire Clan are just a couple of names among thousands of well-designed online slots.
And judging by the reviews in the casino, all these games really like and demanded by players.

Let's talk about God. |

So many people are afraid to talk about their religious beliefs. I read a bulliten on myspace (shhh, I know) about God and how people are more likely to pass on or read anything about sex than they are to read anything that says it's about God.
So it got me thinking about why people are so apprehensive about expressing religious beliefs. Heck my own mother, who is the reason I love theology so much, gets iffy about talking about God in public.

The tiger's views on Reality |

Reality is a facade created by man.
To explain what I mean by this, I must first define both facade and Reality.
Facade is a French term that means, to the best of my knowledge, "mask" or "disguise." Reality is the belief of the world commonly held by the majority of the people. Your definition may be different from mine, but it is as every bit as right for reasons I will show you.

The Dark Goddess |

On Monday, January 08, 2007 LadyWinterWolf wrote : |
The aspect of the Dark Goddess is misunderstood or misinterpreted due to the "definitions" placed upon her by cultures, most especially as one culture warred against, and dominated, another culture. On the other hand, there are the religious factions which needed to justify their domination over other religions by putting evil connotations upon various deities.
Unfortunately, in these modern times, this misinformation surrounding the Dark Goddess is now used to justify many aberrations exhibited by members of our own society.
The article below, written by "Magi" does much to clear up the misinformation, and my own personal thoughts appear below that.

Getting Past the Stereotypes |

I wrote this article for a 'real' vampire group I participated in back in May 2004. I was partly motivated to write it after constantly hearing co-workers saying bad things about a good person--just because of the way she dressed and the color of her hair(which changed on a regular basis). I guess I just thought it was stupid for people to say things about a person they didn't even take the chance to get to know.
Since it was for a vampire group, it starts off with whether vampires exist or not, but than moves into other areas. The group I was in classified themselves as "non-human", which, I've learned since isn't really true, so please forgive any non-human/human references I missed in editing it for this group.
It was also my first attempt at a non-fiction article--and I think I've greatly improved since then(I write a monthly horror column for writers now). I edited this as is, and didn't do a total rewrite.
Thank you for reading!

The Ban on Religious Symbols in Public Schools |

I sat in the lower administration office of Woodbridge Senior High School, furiously biting my nails-a habit that results from my being frustrated, angered or nervous. In this case, anger and frustration were the motives for my nail-biting. Other students sat near me in the small office in a very similar way; some of them stared at one spot as if they were entranced by the invisible air before them. Another student tapped his foot on the ground in a rapid, steady beat, almost as if he was impatient. "(Insert my real name here)?" I heard my name spoken in a familiar male voice that I had heard numerous times before in the crowded hallways, redundantly instructing students to "get to class" and to "not be late". I stood and followed my administrator into his office, where he shut the door to ensure privacy from curious ears.

Interview with a Werewolf
By Caroline Asher
Werewolf legends have been terrorizing us for centuries. From folk tales told in quiet villages after sundown to the big screen monsters of Hollywood, the werewolf remains one of our most terrifying nightmares. Not as stylish as the vampire, and more intelligent and dangerous than the flesheating ghoul, werewolves have a reputation as vicious bloodthirsty killers, stalking mankind through the dark forests on moonlit nights.
But is this image accurate? When did this idea of the shapeshifting werewolf become common? Although the classic Western idea of the werewolf could be mostly derived from the Greek legend of Lycaon, there are Werebeast legends from all parts of the world. In other cultures, instead of werewolves, shapeshifters could transform into bears, foxes, cats of all sizes but especially jaguars or tigers, or birds of prey. Shamans were often believed to possess the ability to transform themselves into animals. The berserker legends of Scandinavia no doubt contributed to the Western European were legends, as the berserker warriors often wore bear skins during battle, and must have been terrifying when the heat of battle was upon them.

Therianthropy, Truth and Consequence |

An In Depth Look at the Therian Condition
Written by Gorlocke 10-09-06
Predominantly in therian research, we have put much focus on the essence of therianthropy. The essence being the underlying origins and causes of the therian condition. Unfortunately, for all the research that has gone into this subject, we seem to have come off empty handed. We have learned much, and found a greater understanding for what therianthropy is, but find a continuous wall in research regarding the definitive roots and origins. This leads me to the conclusion that perhaps we are jumping ahead, and should put less focus on the essence of therianthropy. Therefore, throughout this article I hope to discuss the therian model, gradually removing the factor of essence from the discussion. Like all of my articles, what follows is not meant to be used as a handbook on the subject of therianthropy. All views expressed are the views of one man, and do not reflect the views of the therian community as a whole. For questions or comments, an email address is located at the end of this article.

A Solitary Samhain (repost from WiccanPride) |

A Solitary Samhain
Many covens and circles celebrate this most sacred of pagan holidays as groups, often opening their circles to non-initiates and others who wish to participate. I find myself preferring a solitary ritual, perhaps with some socializing earlier or later in the evening. For me, much of the meaning of Samhain suggests such a practice, though traditionally it is a communal celebration.
Samhain is pronounced as sow-in (in Ireland), sow-een (in Wales), and sav-en (in Scotland). It marks the end of the harvest, the end of the year, and the death of the god. Self-reflection becomes not simply a custom, but a necessity. One cannot (or at least should not) allow the Wheel of the Year to turn without some kind of examination of what has occurred. How have I spent the last year? Did I grow or remain stagnant? Did I live according to the values I claim to embrace? These are questions which must be addressed in solitude and solemnity.

An Individual History of Therianthropy
By Gorlocke September 2, 2006
At a young age, I came to the insane and yet somehow logical conclusion that I was a panther. Back then we didn't have any real concepts of therianthropy, no one had dreamed up any such words at the time. It's difficult to look back on that time of my life and recount things in any great detail, but in the following paragraphs that is exactly what I will try to accomplish. This document is an essay on my own individual history as a therian, and will detail much of my own personal perspective and research on the subject of Therianthropy.
